A "GENIUS AS ALWAYS! " Mind Map of Tony Buzan's 2-day Course on 18-19 Sep 2002 at SIM

A "GENIUS AS ALWAYS !" MIND MAP Endorsed by Tony Buzan on 19 Sep 2002 at Singapore Institute of Management.

This "Genius As Always!" mind map endorsed by Tony really highlighted my everlasting pursue of quality and excellence  to mind map seminar notes in real-time. The challenge was to record/draw/mind map, a 2-day "Good Thinking" course on an A3-sized paper. I had previously done one on an A2-sized paper.

I was pleased with the appearance of my "balanced" mind map and grateful that Tony autographed it.

Having gain the experience and joy of mind mapping both, by hand and by computer software, I am convince that it would be a long time before a mind map drawn using a software would be able to match up with that drawn by hand in real-time.

Thus, personally, I would strongly recommend anyone to get use to drawing by hand first, as you would have all the flexibility of drawing mind maps of various sizes (A6 to A2-size or any other sizes) easily and in any situations. Wow! This really frees up any constraints that you think you may have. Also, the hardcopy mind map easily gives the mindmapper the "Gestalt"  (Whole picture) capability that one will find it hard to duplicate on a notebook screen.

Enjoy and have FUN!

"A 1000% !! Mind Map" on TONY BUZAN's LECTURE - at Ngee Ann Polytechnic on 10 Nov 2001

A " 1000% !! " Mind Map

One of the best ways of taking notes in real-time is by doing a mind map. As any Mind Map enthusiast knows, the note produced is just on one sheet of paper as shown above. Let me give you some ideas about how the above is done.

Firstly, prepare the central image. For me, I drew Tony's portrait as best as I could and inserted the words S-T-U-D-E-N-T to remind me of the fact that he was lecturing to more than 1100 students, teachers, lecturers and principals at Ngee Ann Polytechnic on 10 Nov 2001.

Secondly, I mentally prepared myself with all my training as a "Mind Warrior" as Tony calls us, to capture his lecture on just one sheet of paper. It is this type of mindset that I try to cultivate, nurture and encourage my course participants to adopt. Once the participants are able to see this vision at the end of my two-day training course, the value of this mindset is worth many times the cost of the training programme itself.

Thirdly, after capturing all the key words and pictures in real-time, I finally did some touch up of the "1000% Mind Map", adding more colour and groupings to further enhance the mind map in order for me to remember it for as long as I desire.

I hope you enjoy interpreting the mind map. It is quite simple. Let me know if you have problems doing it.
